ABOUT ABER VALLEY MVC
Founded in 1959 in the heart of the Aber Valley, the Aber Valley Male Voice Choir has become one of the proud musical ambassadors of Caerphilly and South Wales. Born from the rich mining heritage and enduring community spirit of Senghenydd and the surrounding valleys, the choir has spent decades preserving the great Welsh tradition of male voice singing while performing across the UK, Europe and North America.
From local chapels and community halls to the Royal Albert Hall, the opening of the Millennium Stadium and international festivals, generations of choristers have shared not only their love of music, but also a deep sense of friendship, charity and Welsh identity. The photographs below capture that remarkable journey — a living history of voices, community and song spanning more than six decades.
